Morning Session	Workshop I - "Leading By Example" 10:45am to 12:15pm Ministers Helen and Andre Broady will discuss their experience as foster parents and present information about the Foster Care Ministry they have developed at Allen AME, which includes foster parent recruitment, training and counseling support. Workshop II - "Options for Senior and Their Involvement in Child Welfare" 10:45am to 12:15pm Representatives from the NYC Administration for Children's Services and the NYC Department for the Aging will discuss "Embracing Children in Need: A Senior Volunteer Program" and Foster Grandparenting, as well as other unique programs in which seniors and others can nurture children the child welfare system.
AfternoonSession	Workshop III - "Respite Care and Other Alternatives for Service" 1:25pm to 2:55pm Discover how community action can provide meaningful opportunities for children from fragile families. Learn about visit hosting, visit coaching, care giving and participation in family team conferencing. There are alternatives to support the foster care system outside of foster parenting. Workshop IV - "Immigrants and Child Welfare: Strategies to Address the Unique Needs of Immigrant Families" 1:25pm to 2:55pm New immigrants in Queens include Latinos, Africans, Caribbeans and Asians. How can faith organizations support these newcomers by connecting them with social services to protect children who may be vulnerable to abuse or neglect?
